Nohely Chavez (MS, LAT, ATC) joined UTSA’s Sports Medicine Staff in July 2023 as part of the UT Health San Antonio- Rehabilitation Residency program and works primarily with the cheer and men’s tennis teams.
Chavez is a native of Houston, Texas and graduated from the Texas State in 2021 with her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. She then continued her education at Lamar University and earned her Master of Science in Nutrition.
While at Lamar, she covered men and women’s track and field, which included the Southland Conference Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship in 2023. In 2019, she completed an internship with Houston Methodist shadowing multiple medical professionals and observing surgical procedures.
In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family and close friends, CrossFit and go hiking or float the river. Chavez says her favorite superhero is Dr. Strange.
