Name, Image and Likeness

A Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) activity occurs when a student-athlete is being compensated for the use of his or her name, image and/or likeness. In partnership with INFLCR, resources are devoted to NIL programming so that UTSA student-athletes can have the best student-athlete experience possible.

Name, Image and Likeness activities include but are not limited to:

  • Endorsing a brand or company on social media
  • Hosting a camp or clinic
  • Attending a meet and greet at a local organization
  • Attending an autograph signing
  • Making an appearance at a child’s birthday party
  • Taking part in media appearances

Collectives

NIL Collectives work with program supporters to raise money and provide NIL activities to student-athletes. If you want to support student-athletes in NIL, but do not have a particular activity for the student-athlete to participate in, working with a collective is a good avenue to explore.
