2022-23 C-USA Academic Honor Roll
Junior (2023): Played in 40 games with 20 starts – mostly in the outfield… recorded 18 hits, 19 runs and eight RBI… went on an eight-game reached base streak… his best game came against Dallas Baptist on May 12 when he went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs.
Prior to UTSA
Texas Tech (2021-22): Made 13 starts and played in 27 games in his sophomore season with the Red Raiders… with 54 at-bats, he finished the year with a .241 average with one home run, four doubles, five runs scored and 14 RBIs… ranked seventh in the Big 12 with five sacrifice flies.
Texas (2020-21): As a freshman, he played in 17 games for the Longhorns and made three starts... held a .263 season batting average with 19 plate appearances ... had five hits, one home run and three RBIs... named to the Dean’s List.
High School: Attended Rouse High school in Leander, Texas… played four years of varsity baseball for the Raiders under head coach Chad Krempin… named third team All-State as a sophomore in 2018 … first team All-District in 2017, 2018 and 2019… earned the district Newcomer of the Year as a freshman and named first team All-Central Texas as a sophomore.
Personal: Son of Shandalyn and Donald Porter… has one sister, Ashlyn... majoring in marketing.
