Freshman (2023): Played in nine games and started three, due to injuries in the outfield late in the season… made his college debut appearance on April 29 at UAB, before making his first start the next day on April 30 at UAB… went 2-for-3 against Sam Houston on May 2.
Prior to UTSA
High School: Attended New Braunfels High School in New Braunfels, Texas… played three years of varsity baseball for the Unicorn under head coach Bobby Alford… in the 2022 season, he was named first team all-district and all-area and second team all-state as an outfielder… helped lead the Unicorn to round one of playoffs in both 2021 and 2022… also in the National Honors Society and top 5% of graduating class.
Personal: Son of Jessica and Barret Baumann… has a sister, Lena… father, Brett, played baseball at UTSA in 1993-94… majoring in business finance.
