Q&A with UTSA Men's Golf's Brayden Bare

Get to know UTSA men's golf student-athlete Brayden Bare in this Q&A. 

Q: Why did you choose UTSA? 

Brayden Bare: "I chose UTSA because it's a Division I program on the rise with great athletic facilities, a top-notch golf course for us to practice on, and we get a lot of support from coaches, trainers and administration." 

Q: What do you like most about being a student-athlete at UTSA? 

Brayden Bare: "My favorite part about being a student-athlete at UTSA is meeting new people from around the globe in different sports and being able to form relationships I'll have for years to come." 

Q: How did you first get involved in playing golf? 

Brayden Bare: "My dad started taking me out to the golf course when I was 3 years old." 

Q: What are you majoring in and what do you hope to do following your athletic career? 

Brayden Bare: "I'm majoring in marketing and hope to work in the golf industry in some way or become a golf coach." 

Q: What is an interesting fact about you that most people might not know? 

Brayden Bare: "I was born in Seattle, Washington. Go Seahawks!" 

Q: Who have been the most influential people in your life? 

Brayden Bare: "My parents are the most influential people in my life because I wouldn't be where I am today without them. They have sacrificed everything to support my journey, always putting my goals ahead of their own. No matter what, they continue to stand by me and help me in every way they can as I pursue my passion for golf." 

Q: Who is your sports role model? 

Brayden Bare: "Max Homa is my sports role model because he has been through so many struggles over his golf career and he keeps a positive outlook on everything and shares his story for people to relate to."
