Granville to attend Rome City Institute

SAN ANTONIO – UTSA graduate Alex Granville will be furthering her academic pursuits and professional prospects in a move to Italy later this year to attend the renowned academy, Rome City Institute.

"We are super excited for Alex and this incredible opportunity she has earned,” Pittman said. “Not only will she be able to pursue a fantastic degree at a top school, while training with top coaches and in a highly competitive environment, but Alex is a tremendous individual with a blue-collar work ethic, and I have no doubt she will succeed in this new opportunity. We can’t wait to follow her progress and we wish her all the best.

While pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration in an international environment, Granville will have the opportunity to train in a professional soccer setting with UEFA-licensed staff under the guidance of head of football Mauro Girini, who is currently the U19 Women’s Italian National Team Coach, and head coach Richard Demuro.

Granville wrapped up her career at UTSA in the fall, appearing in 74 games across five seasons with the Roadrunners. Amassing 4,332 minutes as an outside back for the Roadrunners, she also added one goal and three assists to her resume in 2023, taking 19 shots on the season.
