Roadrunners to welcome pair of top-55 teams to San Antonio

vs. #54 Old Dominion: 3/9 – 12 p.m.
vs. #28 VCU: 3/12 – 11 a.m.

SAN ANTONIO – Riding a seven-match win streak, UTSA welcomes a pair of ranked foes to the UTSA Tennis Center as part of a four-game home stand. The 42nd-ranked Roadrunners will look to improve their ITA ranking by welcoming both No. 54 Old Dominion and No. 28 VCU.

The Roadrunners (9-4) have knocked off three top-75 teams during their win streak and will look to add two more this week. Old Dominion (8-6) has lost two straight, with its last loss coming against SMU. VCU (11-2) dropped its last match, 4-3, to No. 25 Wake Forest which snapped a seven-match win streak.

UTSA will first meet the Monarchs on Thursday, Match 9, at noon and the theme of the match is Greek Life as university sororities and fraternities are invited to compete for the most attendees. The Roadrunners and VCU will match up on Sunday morning at 11 a.m.

Sophomore Tomás Pinho owns the best singles record through nine duals, as he's 7-4 while junior Alan Magadan also has seven singles wins under his belt. The duo pair of Magadan and Tiago Torres is 4-0 to lead the doubles groups.

UTSA's doubles pair of Rodriguez and Alan Magadan remain in the top 20 of the ITA national rankings as the duo was recently announced as the 16th-best tandem in the country following the March 7 update.
