Pair of Roadrunners earn Dave Campbell’s Texas Basketball postseason honors

LEWISVILLE, Texas – Two Roadrunners earned honors in Dave Campbell's Texas Basketball postseason awards, announced the organization on Thursday. Jordyn Jenkins was named to the All-Texas First Team and named Junior of the Year, while Kyra White was named All-Texas Honorable Mention.

Both in their first year as a Roadrunner, Jenkins and White made an immediate impact on the program in the 2022-23 season. The dynamic duo joined UTSA after a stint in the Pac-12 with the USC Trojans.

Jenkins ended the regular season with the most points (659/20.6 ppg) in the conference and the entire state of Texas. In her first season as a Roadrunner, she broke the single-season scoring record that stood for 32 years (prev. 583 by Tammy Rogers in 1990-91). With a conference-high 240 rebounds, she played a huge role in UTSA's conference-leading 40.34 rebounds per game and 6.6 rebound margin. The Kent, Wash., native earned the Conference USA Player of the Year award, as well as All-C-USA First Team.

White led the team with 142 assists and 4.5 assists per game, second in the conference in both of those categories. She had a sixth-best in the conference 1.52 assist/turnover ratio. She had the third most steals (34), blocks (27) and rebounds (160) on the team. The Converse, Texas, native heated up in the second half of the season, contributing greatly to the Roadrunners win streak to end the season and the extended conference tournament run. With 249 points to end the season, White had the fourth-most on the team.
