UTSA set for All-American Intercollegiate

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's golf team will travel to Humble, Texas, to play in the All-American Intercollegiate on Monday-Tuesday, March 20-21, at the Golf Club of Houston's Tournament Course (par 72/7,067 yards).
 
The Roadrunners will travel a lineup of Hunter Bott, Christian Fanfelle, Jack Wehman, David Harrison and Brayden Bare and will compete against Abilene Christian, Arkansas State, Charleston Southern, Georgia State, No. 46 Houston, No. 17 Kansas State, Lamar, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, No. 36 Louisville, No. 47 LSU, No. 29 Mississippi, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston, Southern Miss, No. 14 Tennessee, Texas State, ULM and UTRGV.
 
The field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start slated for both days.
  
A pair of Roadrunners — Carson Gallaher and Patrick Kahanek — will play in the All-American Individual at the Golf Club of Houston's Member Course (par 72/7,508 yards) on Monday and Tuesday. 
  
This will mark UTSA's ninth appearance in the All-American Intercollegiate. The Roadrunners logged their best finish in 2020 when they tied for fifth behind a seventh-place tie from Fanfelle (67-74-70—211).
 
The Roadrunners are coming off a seventh-place showing at the Louisiana Classics last week in Lafayette. Bott led the way by tying for 15th with a 222 (71-76-75). 
 
Fanfelle paces UTSA with a 72.65 stroke average and the super senior from San Antonio has six top-30 finishes on the season highlighted by a fifth-place effort at the Trinity Forest Invitational last fall.
 
Bott stands second on the squad with a 73.4 scoring average and the senior from Montgomery has placed in the top 30 three times, including a pair of top 15s.
 
Harrison and Wehman each own a 74.04 average while Bare brings a 75.63 mark into the week.
