UTSA heads to Palmetto State for a pair of road tests

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The UTSA women's tennis is set for a couple of road matches in Charleston, S.C., this weekend. The Roadrunners will open the weekend at College of Charleston on Saturday at 9 a.m. CT/10 a.m. ET, before heading to Charleston Southern on Sunday at 12 p.m. CT/1 p.m. ET. 
 
This will be the first time the Roadrunners face both the Cougars from the College of Charleston and the Bucs from Charleston Southern. 
 
UTSA improved to a 10-7 record after taking down No. 69 North Texas, 4-0, and WKU, 7-0, last weekend. Aleksandra Zlatarova (13-2) has consistently dominated at the No. 1 singles spot for the Roadrunners all season. Lexie Weir (11-5) also had double-digit wins, playing at the second court. Zlatarova has a team-high 11 wins in doubles action, playing alongside Weir, Fatima Gutierrez and Magda Tuells at the top spot. Weir has 10 wins in doubles play. 
 
College of Charleston holds a 12-4 record after a 6-1 win over Rhode Island on Friday. The Cougars' No. 1 singles player leads the team with a phenomenal 12-2 record. 
 
Charleston Southern has a 9-5 record after a 5-0 win over Bucknell on Wednesday. The Bucs are currently on a seven-match winning streak. Their No. 1 singles player Luiza Fullana has an 8-3 record, while their sixth court player Kassandra Di Staulo has an unbeaten 9-0 record. 
 
UP NEXT: The Roadrunners return home to host a doubleheader against Prairie View A&M on March 24 at 10 a.m. & 4 p.m. at UTSA Tennis Center.
