Roadrunners enter top 40; earn No. 37 ITA ranking

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men's tennis program has continued its ascent in the national rankings, earning a program-best rating of 37, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced Tuesday morning.

The No. 37 ranking makes UTSA the fourth-highest rated Texas program in the country. The doubles pair of Alan Magadan and Sebastian Rodriguez are still ranked 16th in the country.

Following a 3-0 week that featured two wins over ranked opponents, No. 54 Old Dominion and No. 28 VCU, UTSA has moved up from its previous ranking of No. 42 to No. 37 in the country. The Roadrunners have won nine straight matches and five of their last six wins have come over ranked opponents.

The Roadrunners return to action this Wednesday, March 15, when they host Gonzaga at the UTSA Tennis Center in their final matchup of a four-match homestand. Wednesday's action against the Bulldogs is set to begin at 11 a.m.

Quoting Coach Avdeyev
"It's exciting to see us move up in the rankings again. We feel confident and we are finally starting to understand that pressure is a privilege."
