Roadrunners ready for Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women's golf team will travel to Kansas for the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational, which will be held on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 17-18, at Lawrence Country Club (par 72/6,125 yards).
 
Making their inaugural appearance in this tournament, the Roadrunners will compete against Arizona, Boston College, BYU, Iowa, Kansas, Kent State, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Notre Dame, Sam Houston, Tulane, Washington State and Wisconsin.
 
The field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. start scheduled for both days. 
 
UTSA is coming off a sixth-place showing at the Dale McNamara Invitational last week in Broken, Arrow, Oklahoma. Camryn Carreon tied for sixth with a 1-over-par 217 (75-71-71) and Morgan Ellison grabbed a share of 10th with a 218 (75-69-74) to lead the Roadrunners.
 
Ellison paces the UTSA lineup with a 72.56 stroke average this fall, while Carreon is close behind at 72.67. The Roadrunners also will travel Daniela Abonce (73.78), Olivia Williams (76.23) and Lauren Rios (76.78) this week.
