SAN ANTONIO – UTSA freshman Tiago Torres (Lisbon, Portugal) has been named Conference USA player of the week; it was announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Torres went undefeated in singles last weekend at No. 62 Old Dominion against Younes Lalami 6-4, 6-4 on court 2 and at No. 39 VCU against Maxence Bertimon 6-1, 6-3 on court 2.
Torres is currently 14-4 in singles. He also held a 6-match win streak in singles from his match against Pacific on February 6th up to Abilene Christian on March 5th. In doubles, Torres has earned 9 victories, all of which are with Sebastian Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru).
UTSA (10-10) will be back in action on Saturday for their last home match against Rice at 11 a.m.
