PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — Camryn Carreon and Ana Gonzalez are in the top five individuals and the UTSA women's golf team is in third place after the opening day of the Conference USA Championship, which teed off Monday at PGA National Resort's Champion Course (par 72/6,154 yards).

The No. 49 Roadrunners carded a 308 for the first round, only one shot behind second-place Old Dominion (307 and five back of day-one leader Florida Atlantic (303). UTSA is one stroke ahead of FIU (309), three in front of Southern Miss (311) and four better than No. 44 and defending champion North Texas (312) in the 12-team field.
