Corpus Christi, Texas – The Roadrunners claim two victories on Friday in the H-E-B Tournament of Champions at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center on Friday.
UTSA (5-2) started the tournament with a 5-0 sweep against New Mexico State. Danijal Muminovic (Tuzla, Bosnia) gained his fourth singles win of the season, going 6-6,6-3 on court 5. In doubles, Joao Ceolin (Palotina, Brazil) and Javier Gonzalez (San Fernando, Chile) went 6-1 on court 1 while Maxim Groysman (Bellevue, Wash.) and Garrett Skelly (The Woodlands, Texas) triumph on court 3 going 6-4.
Later in the evening, UTSA posted a 4-3 win over Troy. Sebastian Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) claimed his sixth singles win of the season on court 3.
The tournament continues tomorrow as the Roadrunners face the Ragin' Cajuns for the second time this season at 12 p.m.
