UTSA set for Bentwater Intercollegiate

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's golf team will travel to Montgomery, Texas, for the Bentwater Intercollegiate this Monday-Wednesday, Oct. 11-13, at Bentwater Country Club's Miller Course (par 72/6,809 yards) on Lake Conroe.

The Roadrunners will compete against Florida Atlantic, Houston Baptist, Midland College, Nicholls, Prairie View A&M, Rice, Sam Houston State, South Alabama, South Dakota State, Texas State and UTRGV. The field will play 18 holes each day with tee times starting at 8 a.m.

This will mark the fourth tournament of the season for the Roadrunners, who own a pair of top-two finishes. UTSA opened the fall with a runner-up showing at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate on Sept. 12-14 before winning the 26th team title in program history at the Lone Star Invitational one week later at TPC San Antonio behind co-medalists Hunter Bott and Michael Rome. UTSA is coming off an eighth-place effort at the Trinity Forest Invitational last week in Dallas.

Bott, who will be competing in his hometown this week, leads the team with a 71.6 stroke average this season, while Christian Fanfelle (71.9) and Rome (72.4) are close behind. Bott and Fanfelle each own a pair of top-10 finishes this fall.
