SAN ANTONIO – UTSA men's tennis went 6-0 in singles play to highlight the first day of the UTSA Roadrunner Invitational, played on Friday at the UTSA Tennis Center.
UTSA, playing in its second weekend during the fall tournament schedule, saw its singles squad go 6-0 and its doubles teams combine for four wins during the first of the three-day event in San Antonio.
Joao Ceolin (Palotina, Brazil), Sebastian Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru), Slava Gulin (Moscow, Russia), Javier Gonzalez (San Fernando, Chile), Maxim Groysman (Bellevue, Wash.) and Garrett Skelly (The Woodlands, Texas) each earned singles wins.
In doubles, Ceolin and Rodriguez went 1-1, while Skelly and Gonzalez posted a pair of wins. Groysman teamed with a member of Rice's squad to go 1-1 on the day in doubles.
The event will continue at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and will feature a pair of site, including the UTSA Tennis Center and Brandeis High School.
