City and County Partnership

UTSA has partnered with the City of San Antonio and Bexar County to construct the Park West Athletics Complex and Roadrunner Athletics Center of Excellence. As part of this agreement, UTSA will make these facilities available for City and County events. To request use of these facilities as part of this agreement, please contact the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department or the Bexar County Community Venues Department. For more information about all UTSA Athletics facilities, contact UTSA Associate Athletics Director Patrick Grant at AthleticsEvents@utsa.edu or 210-458-4183.

Park West Soccer and Track & Field Complex

Track & Field Complex and Soccer Fields (including Community Room once constructed) —  For official City public purpose events and other City-hosted or sponsored events requested by the City, rental and parking fees will be waived for the use of the Track & Field Complex and Soccer Fields, including the community room 40 days a year for 20 years at a value of approximately $8M. 

Through 2038 (25 years), Bexar County will be afforded five (5) “County Days” of which the rental fees will be waived for the use of the Track & Field Complex and Soccer Fields. The County shall be obligated to pay the amounts reasonably established by the University to cover the operating costs associated with that usage, including security, cleanup, and any repairs that may be required as a result of County’s use of the facility. Additionally, subject to facility availability, UTSA will use the facility for summer camps hosted by UTSA, UIL meets, cross county meets, Senior Olympics, special population events (e.g. Special Olympics, Paralympics, Wounded Warriors), summer track & field events for Bexar County track clubs, a one day track & field clinic for Bexar County participants, one-day youth soccer clinic and soccer club championships.

Roadrunner Athletics Center of Excellence

Practice Fields — For official City public purpose events and other City-hosted or sponsored events requested by the City, fees for the use of the practice fields will be waived for 10 days per year through August 2041 (20 years) at a value of approximately $1 million.

Public Event Space — The Center of Excellence includes meeting space and an outdoor public gathering event space. For official City public purpose events and other City-hosted or sponsored events requested by the City, fees will be waived for these spaces at a value of $200,000 annually through August 2041 (20 years). 

*Note all annual maintenance and operation expenses are paid by UTSA Athletics.
