Soccer suffers setback at TCU on Sunday

FORT WORTH – TCU scored five first-half goals en route to handing UTSA a 5-0 loss on Sunday afternoon at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.

The Roadrunners (1-1), which suffered their first loss of the campaign, were limited to only five shots and one corner kick.

McKenzie Oliver netted two goals to pace the Horned Frogs (2-0).

UTSA split the contest with two goalkeepers. Gabriella Mariello logged seven saves in the final 45 minutes, while Michelle Cole posted four stops during the first half of action.

COMING UP NEXT
The Roadrunners will play two more non-conference matches next weekend. UTSA will host Stephen F. Austin (0-2) at 7 p.m. Friday at Park West Athletics Complex. The Roadrunners will travel across town on Sunday, Aug. 27, to face Incarnate Word. Kickoff for the Alamo City matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m.
