SAN ANTONIO — UTSA Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Lynn Hickey announced Thursday that she has hired Christine Moeller as Associate Athletics Director for Sport Administration & Student-Athlete Welfare.
Moeller will be responsible for providing oversight to athletic training, strength & conditioning and student-athlete affairs, as well as serving as sport administrator for men's and women's basketball and volleyball.

"We are very fortunate to find someone with the wide range of experience and leadership skills that she has. She will be a tremendous asset to our department and a valuable mentor and leader for our student-athletes."

Moeller comes to the Alamo City with nearly two decades of experience working in intercollegiate athletics including coaching, academic services, compliance, facilities, sport supervision, event management and student-athlete welfare, along with serving as an adjunct professor and lecturer.
Before coming to UTSA, Moeller spent more than a decade at Cleveland State. She was the Compliance Coordinator from 2005-07 before being promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Student Affairs and then to Associate Athletic Director for Student Affairs in 2012.
While in Cleveland, Moeller provided supervision for academic services, compliance, leadership programming, equipment and facilities. Her responsibilities also included overseeing budgeting, scheduling, student-athlete welfare and sport supervision for five sports.
Additionally, Moeller worked with Cleveland State's athletic liaison to different aspects of the university, as well as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator, while also interacting with the student community as an adjunct professor for psychology and sociology of sport.
Moeller served on several committees at Cleveland State, including Judicial and Clery Act/Equity Councils and the Compliance, Financial and Women's Athletic Fund Committees.
Prior to her time in Cleveland, Moeller served as an academic coordinator and Student-Athlete Advisory Board Administrator at Dayton in 2001-05.
During her time in Dayton, Moeller worked with hundreds of student-athletes to ensure progress and success through tutoring, advising and skill advancement. She acted as the liaison to other departments on campus, including the Dean, Registrar and Academics.
Prior to her tenure in Dayton, Moeller was the Athletic Academic Advisor at Cincinnati from 1999-2001. She monitored the football, baseball and volleyball student-athletes at the university through mentorship and coordination of academic sessions. Moeller also facilitated career development for current student-athletes and recruiting potential student-athletes for the university.
From 1997-99, Moeller worked as Louisville's Graduate Assistant for Academic Services for Student-Athletes. She also was an assistant field hockey coach at Bellarmine from 1996-98.
Moeller earned a bachelor's degree in communication and was a field hockey student-athlete at Bellarmine University. She completed a master's of education degree in sport management at Louisville in 1999.
She and husband, Mark, have one daughter, Rebecca.
