FRISCO — Sophomore Morgan Luksa was named to the Southland Conference's Softball All-Academic second team, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Luksa, who carries a 3.58 grade-point average in kinesiology, was one of 24 student-athletes selected to the squad. The League City native posted a 4-5 record, 2.70 ERA, 45 strikeouts and a pair of saves in 98.2 innings of work this season.

The right-hander tossed a five-hit shutout with five strikeouts in a 4-0 win against Northwestern State on May 9 and also hurled a three-hitter in a 3-1 win at Houston Baptist on April 21. She threw three complete games in 32 appearances (12 starts) and surrendered just 19 walks.
