AUSTIN – The UTSA soccer team dropped a 6-0 decision to No. 6/7 Texas on Friday night in non-conference action at Myers Stadium.

Texas (4-1) jumped ahead of UTSA (1-4-1) when Kasey Moore connected on her third goal of the season with 16:06 to go in the first half.

In the second half, sophomore Chea Pajak had a great look at goal to tie the match, but it sealed high off the crossbar. UT upped its lead to 3-0 with back-to-back goals in less than a one minute span. Kelsey Carpenter’s second goal on the night gave the Longhorns a 4-0 lead at the 53-minute mark. Brooke Lee put Texas up 5-0 with 14:51 remaining in the match. Emily Anderson’s first goal of the season put Texas up 6-0 at the 81-minute mark of the match.

Junior Rachel Francis posted nine saves, while sophomore Kasi Hebert collected four.

Carpenter recorded a match-high 10 shots and two goals, while Moore tallied eight shots.

UTSA returns to San Antonio for a two-match home stand that begins on Friday, Sept. 21, against Delaware at the UTSA Recreational Sports Complex. The match is scheduled 7 p.m.
