Junior Laura Baker stands tied for second place after second-round action.
BEAUMONT — Junior Laura Baker fired a second-round 74 on Tuesday, which moved her into a second-place tie with 18 holes remaining at the 2008 Southland Conference Championship.

The Roadrunners began the day in seventh place but moved into a fourth-place tie with Central Arkansas after shooting a team total of 304. Meanwhile, Baker is one of four players tied for second and trails Texas State’s Linn Gustafsson by five stokes in the individual standings.

Sophomore Shelly Martinez climbed up the leaderboard from 29th to 14th place after shooting a three-over-par 74 in the second round. Meanwhile, junior Allie Jordan carded a 78 and stands in 28th. Sophomore Kayla McBride ended her day tied for 29th after firing a 78 and senior Lesan Gouge is tied for 32nd place.

UTSA concludes play on Wednesday morning.
