FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Sophomore Nina Herrera led UTSA with a 52nd-place performance on Saturday at the 23rd annual Chile Pepper Festival.

Herrera covered the Agri Park 6,000-meter loop in 21:54.9 and finished at the Roadrunners' top finisher for the sixth consecutive meet dating back to last fall. Her performance helped lead UTSA to a 13th-place finish in the 34-team field.

Other Roadrunners scorers included sophomore Alyssa Diaz (84th/22:19.9), freshman Carly Kitts (97th/22:32.4) and sophomores Isabel Balbontin (104th/22:40.8) and Samantha Fish (123rd/22:55.6).

UTSA scored 403 points en route to its second consecutive top-15 finish at a prestigious national meet. No. 17 Texas edged 11th-ranked Arkansas by four points (85-89) for the team title, while SMU's Silje Fjortoft won the individual crown in 19:44.2.

The Roadrunners will be back in action on Oct. 31 when they travel to Nacogdoches for the Southland Conference Championships.
