STILLWATER, Okla. — UTSA saw its three-meet winning streak come to an end on Saturday, but the Roadrunners still were able to record a solid showing with a 10th-place performance at the prestigious Cowboys Jamboree.

Leading the way was sophomore Nina Herrera, who ran the 6,000-meter OSU Cross Country Course in 18:38.68, and that was good for 50th place in 184-woman field. The El Paso native has been the Roadrunners' top finisher in the team's last five meets dating back to last fall.

Fellow soph Alyssa Diaz was one spot behind her teammate in 51st (18:38.70). Other UTSA scorers included freshman Carly Kitts (53rd/18:39.12), sophomores Jessica Bitterly (58th/18:46.14) and Samantha Fish (92nd/19:27.71).

UTSA, which was competing for the second time in the last six days, scored 276 points and that was good for 10th in the 20-team field.

Meet host Oklahoma State (73) edged Indiana (81) for the team championship, while Western State's Lauren Kleppin won the individual title in 17:09.90.

This year marked the 74th edition of the meet, making it the oldest in the nation.

The Roadrunners return to action in two weeks when they travel to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Chile Pepper Festival.
