SAN ANTONIO — Nina Herrera raced to a second-place finish and she led the Roadrunners to a runner-up performance at Friday's UTSA Ricardo Romo Classic.

The senior from El Paso covered the soggy 5,000-meter course in 17:56.6. Meanwhile, Samantha Fish (18:14.9) and Emily Perez (18:23.9) finished third and fourth, respectively, and Stephanie Wangui (19:14.6/11th) and Grace Kohler (19:40.3/14th) rounded out the team's scorers.

Texas won the team title with 27 points and the Longhorns defeated the Roadrunners by six. Texas-Pan American (79) rounded out the top three. UT's Megan Siebert won the individual crown in 17:45.9.

UTSA will return to action next Friday, Sept. 27, at the Texas Invitational.
