SAN ANTONIO — UTSA tips off its last weekend of the regular season on Thursday night when it hosts San Jose State in a 7 p.m. contest at the Convocation Center.
The Roadrunners (14-13) and Spartans (11-16) enter the contest with identical 8-8 marks in Western Athletic Conference play and are part of a four-way tie for fourth place in the league standings.
UTSA along with San Jose State, Denver and Louisiana Tech will be looking to cement their place in the top six and avoid playing in next Tuesday's opening round of the WAC Tournament in Las Vegas.
The Roadrunners defeated San Jose State, 57-54, back on Dec. 31, 2012, for their first conference victory of the season. UTSA, which led by as many as 21 points in the second half, recorded an assist on all but one basket in the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
