ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Sophomore Kenny Harrison was named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Special Teams Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Harrison returned a pair of punts for 81 yards in Saturday's 38-31 victory against I-35 rival Texas State. His school-record 79-yard return for a touchdown in the first quarter gave the Roadrunners a 10-0 lead and it was the first return for a score in program history. The Linden native also caught three passes for 32 yards in the season-ending triumph.

He finished the year with 12 punt returns for 208 yards, which translates to a Football Bowl Subdivision-leading 17.3 average. Harrison also averaged 23.3 yards on his 14 kickoff returns in addition to registering 19 receptions for 124 yards and two scores.

It marked his second weekly award of the season, as he was honored on Sept. 17 following his performance at Georgia State. Harrison returned three kickoffs for 111 yards (37.0 avg.), including a school-record 84 yarder that set up a touchdown, in the 38-14 victory.

The Roadrunners, who finished their second campaign with an 8-4 overall record and 3-3 mark in WAC play, had a total four WAC Player of the Week honorees this year, as sophomores Sean Ianno and Triston Wade earned special teams and defensive accolades, respectively, following UTSA's season-opening 33-31 victory at South Alabama.
