SAN ANTONIO —
UTSA will conclude its four-game road trip with a stop at Houston for a non-conference contest on Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Cougar Field.
The Roadrunners (19-25) are coming off a 10-2 victory at Central Arkansas in Sunday's series finale. Junior Daniel Rockett belted a pair of solo home runs, while junior Ryan Dalton tied a career high with four hits. Freshman Justin Anderson earned the victory on the mound after limiting the Bears to two runs over his eight frames.
Senior Casey Selsor leads UTSA with a .323 batting average to go along with eight doubles, a league-high eight triples, one homer and 22 RBIs. Dalton, who is hitting .321, leads the club with seven home runs, while Rockett is batting .268 with a team-best 36 RBIs.
Freshman right-hander Jordan Pacheco (1-2, 4.66 ERA) will make his second consecutive Tuesday night start. The Victoria native put an end to top-ranked Baylor's 24-game winning streak last Tuesday after holding the Bears to one run over 5.1 stanzas en route to earning his first career victory.
The Cougars (14-26-1) enter the midweek affair having lost eight of their last 10 games, including all three at UAB last weekend.
Jacob Lueneburg paces the Houston offense with a .309 batting average, while Chase Jensen, who is batting .282, is the squad's top power threat with seven doubles, a pair of triples, a homer and 29 RBIs.
Right-hander Aaron Garza (1-4, 5.40 ERA) is expected to start on the mound.
Tuesday marks the 27th meeting between the two clubs with the Cougars holding a 16-10 advantage. However, the Roadrunners have won three of the last four matchups, including both last season.
