SAN ANTONIO — Mike Medrano raced to a second-place finish and he led the Roadrunners to a runner-up performance at Friday's UTSA Ricardo Romo Classic.
The junior from Mission covered the rain-soaked 5,000-meter course in 15:50.4. Meanwhile, Tony Jaramillo (16:32.1) and Javier Salas (16:36.6) finished ninth and 10th, respectively, and Brady Hand (16:43.6/12th) and Harvinder Singh (16:46.6/13th) rounded out the team's scorers.
Texas won the team title with 19 points and the Roadrunners finished with 46. Texas-Pan American (70) rounded out the top three. UT's Austin Roth won the individual crown in 15:41.
UTSA will return to action next Friday, Sept. 27, at the Texas Invitational.
