SAN ANTONIO — UTSA returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Waco for the NCAA South Central Regional. The men's 10,000-meter race is scheduled to begin 10 a.m. at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course and schools from the states of Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas will make up the field.

The Roadrunners, who are coming off a runner-up performance at the Southland Conference Championships, will face 21 teams (Arkansas, Arkansas State, Baylor, Houston, Houston Baptist, Lamar, Louisiana-Monroe, LSU, McNeese State, North Texas, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, TCU, Texas, Texas-Pan American, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas State, Tulane, UALR and UT Arlington) in the race that precedes the NCAA Championships.

Seniors Albert Cardenas and Cole Reveal both placed in the top five at the conference meet, which helped lead UTSA to its best finish in 14 years.

Cardenas earned All-Southland honors for the second consecutive year following his third-place performance and he posted the best finish by a Roadrunner at the league meet since Philo Saunders' third-place effort in 1998. Meanwhile, Reveal, an all-region performer a year ago, also garnered all-conference accolades for the second year in a row after finishing two spots behind his teammate.

The top two teams, along with the top four individuals, will advance to the national meet, which is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 21, in Terre Haute, Ind.
