Roadrunners to return to course at Chile Pepper Festival
SAN ANTONIO — After taking a week off from competition, the UTSA men's cross country team will return to action on Saturday morning when it runs at the 23rd annual Chile Pepper Fesitival in Fayetteville, Ark.
The 10,000-meter race will start at 9:45 a.m. All told, there will be nearly 35 teams and 300 athletes competing.
The Roadrunners saw their three-meet winning streak
come to an end two weeks ago at the prestigious Cowboys Jamoree, but UTSA still was able to
record a solid showing with a 10th-place performance.
Leading the way was senior Albert Cardenas, who ran the 8,000-meter OSU
Cross Country Course in 24:40.21, and that was good for 21st place in
324-man field.
