SAN ANTONIO — Men's distance/cross country coach Scott Slade recently was named the NCAA South Central Men's Cross Country Region Representative at the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Convention, which was held in the Alamo City. His appointment also put him on the Division I Cross Country Executive Committee.

Now in his fifth season at UTSA, Slade has led the Roadrunners men to consecutive third-place finishes at the Southland Conference Cross Country Championships. He also has coached a pair of NCAA All-South Region performers in Cole Reveal (2010) and Layne Nixon (2009), as well as 2008 Southland Champion and all-region performer Dana Mecke.
