Low earns NFCA second-team All-South Region accolades
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Megan Low was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-South Region second team, the organization announced on Thursday.
Low, who recently claimed first-team All-Conference USA honors and was named to the league’s all-academic team, is the 11th player in program history to be honored by the NFCA on its all-region squad and first since Caitlin Ivy picked up second-team accolades in 2010.
The Spring native finished the regular-season tied for the NCAA lead with 22 home runs, which is the second-highest single-season total in school annals. Her .901 slugging percentage ranks fifth in the nation, while her 47 RBIs and .388 batting average rank third and fifth in C-USA, respectively. She also paced the Roadrunners with 34 runs scored, 59 hits, 12 doubles, 28 walks, a .513 on-base percentage, 16 multi-hit games and 13 multi-RBI games.
Low helped UTSA tie an NCAA record with one of two grand slams in an inning against Lamar (Feb. 8) and tied school single-game marks with seven RBIs (Feb. 8 vs. Lamar) and three homers (April 9 vs. Texas State).
