Low named to Conference USA All-Academic Team
IRVING — Megan Low was selected to the Conference USA All-Academic Team in a vote by the league’s sports information directors, it was announced on Thursday.
A day after she was a first-team all-conference selection, Low was one of 12 academic honorees in the league. The Spring native owns a 3.5 cumulative GPA in kinesiology and was able to excel in the classroom in addition to putting together her best season on the field.
Low, who earlier this spring was recognized as a member of the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll, finished the regular-season tied for the NCAA lead with 22 home runs, which is the second-highest single-season total in school annals. Her .901 slugging percentage ranks sixth in the nation, while her 47 RBIs and .388 batting average rank third and fifth in C-USA, respectively. She also paced the Roadrunners with 34 runs scored, 59 hits, 12 doubles, 28 walks, a .513 on-base percentage, 16 multi-hit games and 13 multi-RBI games.
Low helped UTSA tie an NCAA record with one of two grand slams in an inning against Lamar (Feb. 8) and tied school single-game marks with seven RBIs (Feb. 8 vs. Lamar) and three homers (April 9 vs. Texas State).
