SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will open its 2014 campaign on Friday night at the Alamo City Opener, which will be hosted by Incarnate Word at Live Oak City Park on the town's east side.

The men's 6,000-meter race will start at 7:15 p.m. and Our Lady of the Lake, Texas State and Trinity will join the Roadrunners and host Cardinals in the field.

UTSA, which is beginning its second campaign as a member of Conference USA, returns six runners from last year's squad that finished seventh at the league championship meet.

Mike Medrano paces the returnees following a junior campaign that saw him finish as the team's top finisher at four events. Meanwhile, Harvinder Singh is the squad's top returner from last fall's C-USA Championships following his 30th-place performance.
