Low named Conference USA Player of the Week on Monday
IRVING — Megan Low was named Conference USA Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
The junior first baseman hit .455 with five runs scored, a double, four home runs and seven RBIs in leading the Roadrunners to a pair of wins last week. Low walked four times, including a pair of intentional passes, and recorded a .625 on-base percentage out of the top spot in the batting order to go along with a 1.636 slugging percentage.
The Spring native started the week by tying a single-game school record with three home runs in her first three at-bats to lead UTSA to a 9-6 win over I-35 rival Texas State on April 9. Low opened the contest with a solo homer and followed it up with a pair of two-run shots for a total of five RBIs. In the second game of the Roadrunners' series at FIU, she hit another two-run homer to push her NCAA-leading total 20 blasts on the season.
In addition, Low extended her reached base streak to 25 consecutive games, while she recorded 32 putouts and an assist in the field.
This is the second C-USA Player of the Week honor for Low this season after she earned the spring's inaugural honor on Feb. 10.
Low and the Roadrunners will return to action on Friday, April 18 for a 2 p.m. doubleheader against league-leading and 15th-ranked Tulsa (38-5, 12-2 C-USA) at Roadrunner Field.
