SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will make its final regular-season road trip of the fall this weekend when it travels to Denver and New Mexico State. The Roadrunners and Pioneers will square off at 7 p.m. (CT) on Friday before facing the Aggies at 2 p.m. (CT) two days later.

UTSA will enter the weekend with a 2-10-2 overall record and the Birds sit in seventh place in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) standings with a 1-2-2 league mark. The Roadrunners suffered a pair of setbacks last week to CSU Bakersfield (5-3) and Louisiana Tech (1-0/OT). Freshmen Anisa Patterson and Kirby Wright recorded their first career goals against CSU Bakersfield, as UTSA scored a season-high three winners. In all, nine different players have scored the Roadrunners’ 12 goals this season. Junior Maria Jose Rojas, sophomore Liv Nyhegn and freshman Simone Boye all lead the club with two apiece.

Denver will bring a 10-1-4 overall ledger into Friday’s match and the Pioneers are third in the league with a 2-0-2 mark. The squad is second in the WAC in goals (31), assists (28), shots (16.9 per game) and goals allowed (10). Junior Kristen Hamilton paces the offense with 23 points on 10 goals, including three game-winners, and three assists. Meanwhile, seniors Kaitlin Bast and KatyVan Lieshout both have netted five goals. Meanwhile, senior Lara Campbell has 49 saves and has been a part of seven shutouts between the pipes. Denver’s only loss came in its season opener against Colorado College.

New Mexico State (2-10-3, 0-3-1 WAC) will host Texas State on Friday night before the Roadrunners come to town on Sunday. The Aggies dropped a 3-0 decision to Denver last Friday before picking up a 1-0 overtime win against CSU Bakersfield two days later. Sophomore Alexys Brownell’s goal in the 92nd minute against CSUB was New Mexico State's first score since a Sept. 12 match against UTEP and that broke a string of seven consecutive shutouts. Fellow sophomore Layla Todd leads the team with a pair of goals this season.

The Roadrunners will be facing both squads for the first time in program history.
