SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will return to the pitch this weekend when it hosts the UTSA Classic. The Roadrunners will face Eastern Michigan at 7 p.m. on Friday night before squaring off with Kent State at noon two days later. Lamar also is in the four-team tournament field.

UTSA (0-3) is coming off last Saturday's 2-0 loss at No. 12 Texas A&M. Playing in front of 4,334 fans at Ellis Field, the Roadrunners matched the Aggies for most of the first half before Annie Kunz broke a scoreless tie with a goal just 18 seconds before intermission. Meghan Streight went on to add a strike in the 55th minute for the final margin. Freshman goalkeeper Katarina Pus recorded a season-high seven saves in the match and her 4.67 stops per contest is tied for second in the Western Athletic Conference.

The Eagles (1-1-1) will travel to the Lone Star State for the first time in program history this weekend. Head coach Scott Hall returns 15 letterwinners from last year’s squad that went 3-13-2 and finished in fifth place in the Mid-American Conference's West Division. Angela Vultaggio and Bianca Rossi each have netted a pair of goals and combined to score four of the team’s five winners this season. Goalkeeper Jenna O’Dell has 29 stops and is allowing 1.55 goals per match.

Meanwhile, the Golden Flashes (2-0-1) travel to the Alamo City with an undefeated record and are coming off a 1-1 tie at Valparaiso last Friday. Jessacca Gironda and Stephanie Haugh lead Kent State with five points apiece on a pair of goals and an assist. The Golden Flashes defense has been stout through three matches, as Stephanie Senn has allowed just two goals on a mere eight shots on goal.

UTSA will be facing both squads for the first time in program history.
