SAN ANTONIO — UTSA was one of 436 women's programs to earn the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2009-10 academic year, the organization announced on Thursday.
A total of 630 teams (436 women/194 men) posted a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher to earn the award. The Roadrunners made the list after posting a team GPA of 3.05.
Along with its success in the classroom, UTSA just completed the most-successful season in school history in which it won a school-record 13 games, captured its first-ever Southland Conference Tournament Championship and made its first NCAA Tournament appearance.
