SAN ANTONIO — UTSA recently completed two sessions with the U.S. Army consisting of the Confidence Obstacle Course and Leadership Reaction Course at Camp Bullis. The team was led by Major Benjamin McMahon along with officers and cadets from UTSA’s Army ROTC.
“Our officers and cadets enjoyed working with these young ladies,” McMahon said. “You could see the student-athletes gain confidence and raise their expectations of their performance. They definitely rose to the occasion on both days to do an outstanding job.”
Senior midfielder Lindsay South found the experience to be invaluable.
“What a great experience for all of us, both individually and as a team,” South said. “Every one of us did things we never would have tried, but we did so because of our teammates and leadership from the coaches.”
“I would like to thank Major McMahon and the entire Army ROTC here at UTSA for a challenging and outstanding team-building experience,” head coach Steve Ballard said.
The Roadrunners open their regular season at 7 p.m. on Friday at Houston Baptist.
