Roadrunners look to get back on winning track on Wednesday night at UAB
SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will look to snap a five-game losing streak on Wednesday night when it travels to UAB for a 7 p.m. contest at Bartow Arena.
The Roadrunners (11-11, 2-7 C-USA) will be looking for their first win since Miki Turner’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer at North Texas on Jan. 18. The injury bug has hit UTSA hard lately with Turner missing the past two games with an ankle injury and Niaga Mitchell-Cole out for the season with a foot injury.
UAB (12-10, 4-5 C-USA) ranks second in Conference USA in team field goal percentage at 42.3 percent. Karisma Chapman leads the charge connecting on 49.6 percent of her field goal attempts this season, which is good for second among league players. Sophomore Chelsee Black leads the conference and is 20th nationally in free throw percentage at 88.4 percent.
This will be the first meeting between the two schools.
