FRISCO — Senior Alysse Davis was named to the Southland Conference All-Academic second team, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Davis recently completed a successful season on and off the court for the Roadrunners.

She set the program's single-season and career records for blocked shots, while graduating in December 2010 with a 3.32 grade-point average in marketing. The Corpus Christi native set career highs in scoring (9.1 ppg), 3-pointers (61), rebounds (194), defensive rebounds (178), blocks (78), assists (44) and steals (30).

Davis ranked among the conference's leaders with an average of 6.3 rebounds per game and 5.7 defensive boards per contest, while her 78 swats led the league and was the ninth-best total in Southland history.

McNeese State's Ashlyn Baggett was named the league's Student-Athlete of the Year and was joined on the first team by teammate Caitlyn Baggett, Ang Green (Lamar), Kalis Loyd (Lamar) and Britni Martin (Sam Houston State).

Texas State's Anna Brzozowski, Central Arkansas' Micah Rice, Sam Houston State's Sequeena Thomas and Lamar's Monique Whittaker joined Davis on the second team.
