KATY — No. 4 seed UTSA (16-14) will be in search of its third appearance in the Southland Conference Championship Game in the last four years when it faces Regular Season Champion McNeese State (24-6) in the tournament's first semifinal at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Roadrunners advanced after defeating fifth-seeded Sam Houston State, 69-61, on Tuesday night.
The Cowgirls raced past the West Division Champions, 72-43, last month in Lake Charles, La., but UTSA defeated McNeese, 71-52, in the only postseason meeting between the teams two years ago. The Roadrunners went on to capture their second consecutive Southland Tournament title.
