Roadrunners to host UTEP on Saturday
SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will host UTEP at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Convocation Center.
The Roadrunners (11-7, 2-3 C-USA) will look to even up their Conference USA record after Wednesday's 60-41 road loss at first-place Middle Tennessee. UTSA posted a season-low point total, but it relied on its defense to stymie the Blue Raiders to their lowest-scoring first half of the season. McKenzie Adams led three Roadrunners in double figures with 11 points.
UTEP (14-4, 3-2 C-USA) enters Saturday’s contest following Wednesday's thrilling, come-from-behind 86-85 overtime home victory against Southern Mississippi. Kayla Thornton scored 26 points and Chrishauna Parker tallied 21 and also grabbed 16 rebounds, as the Miners overcame a 22-point deficit.
The Roadrunners lead the all-time series, 16-7, and Saturday will be the first meeting between the two school's since UTEP's 80-47 win on Nov. 11, 2006, in El Paso.
