MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee held UTSA to a season-low point total Wednesday night to snap the Roadrunners winning streak at two with a 60-41 victory in the Murphy Center.

Three Roadrunners (11-7, 2-3 C-USA) scored in double figures with McKenzie Adams notching a team-high 11. Kamra King and Miki Turner each tallied 10 with King scoring all 10 in the second half.

Middle Tennessee (16-3, 5-0 C-USA) was led by Ebony Rowe’s game-high 26 points and 16 rebounds. The Blue Raiders second all-time leading scorer dropped 18 points in the second half.

The first half proved to be a defensive battle as the Blue Raiders pushed out to a 10-2 lead on Lauren March’s jumper at the 10:57 mark. Adams jumper with 6:18 left in the half capped an 8-4 UTSA run but Middle Tennessee responded with a 10-2 run to close the half and took a 24-12 lead at the break. It was the lowest scoring first half for each team this season.

The Blue Raiders pushed their lead to 33-17 following Rowe’s layup at the 17:16 mark of the second half. The Roadrunners were able to fight back to cut the deficit to single digits, 36-27, on King’s 3-pointer with 10:47 to play but wouldn’t get any closer finishing the contest 5-of-19 from the field the rest of the way.

With Rowe leading the way, Middle Tennessee had a 32-20 edge in points in the paint and scored 22 points off of 24 UTSA turnovers.

UTSA will return home for a Saturday contest at 4 p.m. with in-state foe UTEP (14-4, 3-2 C-USA).
