UTSA to host Abilene Christian in final non-conference game of year on Saturday
SAN ANTONIO — Currently riding its longest winning streak in five seasons, the UTSA women’s basketball team will look to extend that streak to seven games Saturday when they host Abilene Christian (9-5) at 4 p.m. in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
Fresh off an MVP performance in the UTSA Holiday Classic, junior guard Kamra King will look to continue her torrid start to the season. The Norman, Okla. native has led the Roadrunners in scoring seven times this season and has surpassed the 20-point plateau on three occasions.
Abilene Christian is making its first foray into NCAA Division I basketball this season and the Wildcats have quickly made an impact with nine wins to this point, including a 58-57 victory at Big 12 opponent and in-state foe Texas Tech their last time out.
ACU has four players averaging double figures this season, led by Renata Marquez’s 12.9 points per game.
