San Jose State game cancelled due to leaky roof
SAN JOSE, Calif. — UTSA's men's basketball game at San Jose State, scheduled for Thursday night at The Event Center, was cancelled due to a leaky roof. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) contest will not be made up.
Heavy rain began falling in the San Jose area one hour before the scheduled tip-off time of 9 p.m. (CT) and water began to leak onto the court with approximately 25 minutes left on the countdown clock. Officials stopped the clock at 15 minutes to see if the arena crew could keep the water from falling onto the floor, but the leaks spread to at least four different spots and officials made the decision to cancel the game due to unsafe playing conditions shortly after 9 p.m.
The Roadrunners (8-20, 3-13 WAC) will conclude their regular season slate at Utah State (20-9, 10-7 WAC) on Saturday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. (CT) and the game will be televised locally on KCWX-2 and it also can been seen on ESPN3.
