SAN ANTONIO — UTSA begins its first and only season of Western Athletic Conference play on Saturday when it travels to Las Cruces, N.M., to face New Mexico State (1-3). Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CT) at Aggie Memorial Stadium.
The Roadrunners (4-0) are coming off last Saturday’s record-setting 56-3 victory against Northwestern Oklahoma State and they currently are riding a five-game winning streak dating back to the final contest of their inaugural 2011 campaign. In fact, UTSA has outscored its opponents by a combined score of 203-71 (average score of 40-14) during its program-record stretch of victories.
The Roadrunners are making the jump to the Football Bowl Subdivision this fall after posting a 4-6 record as a Football Championship Subdivision independent a year ago.
