SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will open this week's Western Athletic Conference Tournament, which will be played at the friendly confines of the Convocation Center, as the No. 3 seed and it face sixth-seeded San Jose State in the event's opening quarterfinal match at 12 p.m. on Monday.

The Roadrunners (20-8) enter the tournament on a seven-match winning streak, while the Spartans (14-15) have lost three of their last five outings, including a home sweep at the hands of UTSA in last Thursday's regular-season finale.

Monday will mark the fifth all-time meeting between the two squads. The series is tied at two after the Roadrunners swept the regular season series in seven sets.
